Ni Ni (born August 8, 1988) is a Chinese film actress. Ni first came into national prominence through close collaboration with Chinese director Zhang Yimou. In Zhang’s new film The Flowers of War , she played the leading role “Yu Mo”.

Ni Ni(Chinese name:倪妮) was born in Nanjing, Jiangsu. She graduated from Communication University of China, specializing in TV Broadcasting and Hosting.

Zhang Yimou(张艺谋) and his working team started preparing for the cast around 2007. Since The Flowers of War (金陵十三钗 (2011)) is set in Nanjing (ancient name: 金陵) in 1937, Zhang hoped to find a native girl to star in his film. Eventually, Ni was chosen and became the new “Mou Girl” like Gong Li and Zhang Ziyi.

Ni made her acting debut in the film The Flowers of War (2011) as the leading role Yu Mo (玉墨). She received acclaim for her performances in this film and then rose to fame. The producer, Zhang Weiping spoke highly of her performance: "Born in 1988, she is young, yet her grasp of the figure is definitely accurate."

Ni Ni played the role of Yu Mo, a misfortunate yet noble prostitute during Second Sino-Japanese War. In the Nanking Massacre, she and her twelve friends managed to save thirteen female college students at the expense of their own lives. In the film, Ni Ni plays opposite Christian Bale.
