Song Zuying, born August 13, 1966, is an ethnic Miao Chinese singer. Song was born in Guzhang county, part of a Miao autonomous prefecture in Hunan Province. Guzhang county is located near Wulingyuan and Zhangjiajie. That was a very beautiful place and a lot of outstanding talents and beautiful women were born there.
Song Zuying (Chinese:宋祖英) graduated from China Music Academy and Central Institute for Nationalities in Beijing. In 1991, she joined the Chinese People's Liberation Army Naval Song and Dance Troupe as a national first-class singer. As of 2009, she is a non-combatant Rear Admiral in the Chinese Navy. In 1999,she joined the communist party of China.
Song Zuying is the most famous soprano and the most famous female folk song singer in China. Her representative songs, such as Spicy Girl, Happy Life, Love My China and Flying Songs on the Ground, are very popular in China and the Sinosphere. And due to her fame among China's political elite, solo concert performances at prestige international venues such as Sydney Opera House in 2002, Vienna Golden Hall in 2004, and John F. Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts in 2008 were held for the political elites in those respective countries for diplomatic purposes.
On 8 May 2011, Song staged a $100 million(TWD) show at Taipei Arena, accompanied by Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra, and hundreds of supportive artists from mainland China, attended by about 8000 invited guests.
